KFPS studbook stallion Beant 517 Sport AAA will continue his career abroad. The Hessel 480 offspring will soon exchange his box at Stal de Mersken in Siegerswoude for Mexico.
First foals
'We have had wonderful times with Beant,' says Age Okkema. 'But ultimately, of course, we are also a business, so if a good offer comes along that requires them to cover mares for a few years, then they will go.' Age held the stallion, registered name Beant fan de Lege Geaën, in joint ownership with his breeder, Mr. T. Fopma from Gauw. 'The sale was concluded by mutual agreement; we are proud that the stallion earned the Sport Predicate while with us and covered a decent number of mares,' says Age. Beant 517 presented his first crop of foals last year.
Chasing Dedmer 519
The sale of the big friendly giant, as the stallion is called in the stable, is being handled in collaboration with Ted Kop Jansen, who also sent his own Johnny Cash (Tsjalle 454) to the Latin American country last year. Beant 517 will be the second stud stallion for Mexico, following Alwin 469 son Dedmer 519, who left last year.
